The Golden Blend is a small masterpiece of Mac Baren. Virginia from Brazil and Burley from Malawi were pressed and rubbed up again for the smoker after drying a”ready rubbed”.
The two types of tobacco form a pleasant balance of the straw sweetness of the Virginia and the dark nuty of the Burley.
An aromatization is hardly noticeable.

Chocolatey and nutty – this is how the taste of the Golden Blend is most likely to be summarized. However, it is first and foremost very natural, because its aroma seems to owe less to other additions than the brown Burley, which together with a small proportion of golden Virginia forms the basis of this pipe tobacco. In addition, he is characterized by a pronounced mildness, which has probably also contributed to the fact that he has had a convinced fan base since 1952.

a classic Ready Rubbed mixture comes to light. Light yellow to golden Virginiagrades were pressed here together with light to dark brown burleys to a flake and then crushed into a ready-made mixture, which can be brought into the pipe without much effort.
The tobacco surface can be completely made to smoulder in a few attempts and the connoisseur is immediately rewarded with a pleasant, natural tobacco enjoyment. A slightly holy, sour-sweet Virginia aroma is noticeable on the tongue, complemented by the light nuty and chocolateiness of the apparently high-quality burley.
If the tobacco has been flavoured, it can only be a very small amount.
The focus is clearly on the balance of the excellent raw tobaccos.
The burning of the tobacco is exemplary, it can be smoked without problems and changes its aroma only slightly in the course of the approximately 75-minute smoking period.
The sweetness goes back a little and makes way for the pleasantly herbal spice, but these are only nuances.
A little coarse, gray ash and a pleasantly caramel aftertaste on the palate remains.
